Reviewers note the controversial nature of assorted market investors trading from the basic fundamental index and my thoughts for the novice who wants to buy this book and study, be prepared to fully absorb the 300 plus pages offered when I purchased it at around $30. The excellent Appendix, Notes and Reference sections are most helpful. On balance, IF you decide to buy this book, have an open mind, been modestly successful in trading and willing to seriously study this concept to the max.

Good Book, But ...

The book is well-written in terms of presenting the nuts and bolts of fundamental indexing. It clearly explains why and clearly explains how. It even gives some perspective to the pro's and con's. In that respect, I am completely satisfied with the book and will read parts of it again as needed. That being said, I only finished 75% of the book. By that point, it just got too statistically detailed and too repetitive to finish. Some will find the scope of the book necessary to completely validate the fundamental indexing concept. I would have been happy with a bit less. But if you are interested in fundamental indexing, get this book. If statistics bore you, be ready to skim parts.

Arnott is, of course, a genius and his theory is by now a classic. The book is an easy read and provocative. My quick and dirty analysis of the funds that implement his theory has not convinced me to switch from cap-weighted ETFs but I dabbled a bit and believe the subject deserves further research.

Well done, again, for the second installment in the Silverwood Coven series. The story picks up exactly where the first left off and you will not be disappointed in the road it this book takes you on. As I indicated in my review of the first book, I don't normally read a series because of my voracious book appetite, but this series simply takes you away and sucks you in very quickly. The author provides a fantastic narrative with enough detailed background to hook you in and keep you wanting more.

Summer, Michael and Troy are a great triad and they blend very well together. As another reviewer noted, this type of story line can often ruin a good read, but Ms. Hunter has conquered it in a tasteful, yet sinful sexy manner. A kidnapping, a rescue, two hot men who only want the best for their girl, steamy sex - what else could a girl want?

Again, we are left with a heck of a cliffhanger, but it's definitely well worth your time to get the series. I can't wait to download Book 3 to find out what happens next for these characters and will definitely be perusing the rest of her books!

Still not a fan of the Cliff hanger!! This book is a series and you will get the most from reading the 1st before reading this one.

Summer holds a power that the Templars want. Michael is ordered to bring her in but he also overhears a plot to destroy the Wiccan's at there annual winter gathering.

Once again, Michael saves Summer! By kidnapping her from the coven, the saves place to be is with him. Troy tracks them back to Michael apartment. After a rogue Templars attempt to get Summer, Michael confessing to overhearing the plan to destroy the covens.

These characters are AWESOME!! I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed this series. I was a little hesitant cuz of the two guys factor which if done badly can be a killer to a book but it was very well done and you get emotionally invested in all 3 of these dynamic characters. Part 3 is coming out soon...I hope!!! cuz i'm waiting...waiting...waiting...LOL..buy it..you really won't be disappointed.

Well-rounded book

This compact but lengthy book covers a wide range of techniques, subjects, and mediums for drawing. This is a book suitable for a complete beginner up to an advanced intermediate art student. As a beginner myself, I was glad that things started slow with still-lifes, but not for too long, progressing soon to landscapes, figures and animals. The mediums covered include pencil, charcoal, Conte Crayon, chalk, pastels, felt pens, ballpoint pens, India ink, colored pencils, and maybe some others that I've forgotten. it's easy enough to focus on one or two mediums, though; the lessons apply broadly.
The lessons break things down well, focusing on technique rather than the specific drawing. The author and artist really focus on explaining how to approach a subject, breaking things down into their components. I've found it a valuable resource and my drawing has improved a lot.
Bottom line: if you want to improve your drawing, but have never been sure how, working through this book is an excellent place to start.

I, Grandma, read this beautiful "How to draw book", and gave it to my 14 year old artist grandson. His parents believed the "how to draw the female body" was too explicit for a 14 year old. They took it, keeping it till he is older.
The rest of the book would have been very appropriate for him. It's an exceptional book.

Excellent introduction to the world of Pokemon

I bought this book for my 7 years old son with his first Pokemon deck, and started reading it during my flight from Sydney to Cairo. It was very interesting to the extent that I finished it all in one shot. It is truly one of the most wonderfully illustrated book I have ever seen. It helped me a lot to understand the Pokemon phenomenon and communicate with my son. It helped him also to share the Pokemon fun with his peers. The CD, which comes with the book, is excellent for both learning as well as practicing the game, and deserves the price itself.

The book was defected upon arrival. Was not new; looked used. Front cover ripped from the corner to the middle and bottom corners wrinkled and worn. Arrived on time. Unsatisfied, it was supposed to be a Christmas gift and now I cannot use it for that because it is so damaged

Robert H. Thune, MA, is the founding pastor of Coram Deo Church in Omaha, Nebraska. He is also the co-author of The Gospel-Centered Life, The Gospel-Centered Community, and The Gospel-Centered Life for Kids, both published by New Growth Press. Bob holds degrees from the University of Oklahoma and Reformed Theological Seminary. He and his wife Leigh are the parents of four energetic children. In addition to his work at Coram Deo, he coaches and trains church planters through the Acts 29 Network.

Good resource overall

Good resource overall! Great for a group study. The book really emphasizes the personal life and character of the elder, sometimes to the exclusion or minimizing of practical details pertaining to the work of the elder among his congregation.

Great book on eldership

Great book on eldership. Has very good questions elders need to ask themselves to probe whether they are doing a good job of shepherding God's people. Gave us a lot of think about when we read it.

Raising Up Godly Leaders

Everything rises or falls with good leadership. The fruitfulness and effectiveness of the local church is dependent upon men who exert strong, humble, and God-centered leadership. Weak men spawn weak churches. But men who living according to God's mandate are a part of churches that thrive and produce spiritual fruit to the glory of God.

“The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer; he desires a noble task.” So says the apostle Paul in his letter to Timothy.
Raising up biblical elders was a challenge in the first-century church. It continues to pose a tremendous challenge in our day as well. There are numerous resources that help equip biblical elders. The most notable resource is Biblical Eldership ([...]) by Alexander Strauch.

However, Robert Thune’s excellent work, Gospel Eldership: Equipping a New Generation of Servant Leaders serves as a suitable companion and will no doubt be greatly used by God in the days to come.
The thesis is clear enough: “And is it not true that for a church to go deep in the gospel, its leaders must be deep in the gospel? That’s the vision and the goal behind Gospel Eldership.”

So the author presents ten lessons that provide a workable platform to train prospective elders and nurture the faith of men who currently serve as elders.

Description of an Elder:
Section one discusses biblical eldership at a grassroots level. The author explores the importance of servant leadership, examines the necessity of a plurality of leadership, and walks readers through the various character qualifications the make up an elder.

Duties of Elders:
Section two focusses on the important duties of elders. Elders are called upon to feed, lead, protect, and care for the church. In addition, Mr. Thune discusses the necessity of leadership that is missional and also touches on some temptations that emerge in missional leaders.

The first thing readers will notice in this work is the short, readable chapters. Each lesson is packed with biblical wisdom that point readers to the gospel. Discussion questions are included along with exercises that help apply the biblical principles.

There is much to commend in Thune’s work. But the highlight of this book is found in its repeated emphasis on the gospel. The author sets his sights on the heart of the reader. It is clear from beginning to end that the aim is heart transformation in every elder.

I highly recommend Gospel Eldership and look forward to hearing about how it encourages Christian leaders around the world.
