Growing up, I considered every single thing that happened in my life as a curse. I saw it as me being punished for "something" because I felt not good enough. I felt abandoned and not loved. I was in a state of separation, of loneliness, of constant fear of what others would think of me. I gave more and more of myself, being who they wanted me to be for them, so they would love me and not abandon me. Now I know, that all of this is from, and living within, and being, in the frequency energy of fear. I learned that Earth has a fixed curriculum of "Duality," and that we are here to learn about the two fixed energies. I learned we had to start at the darkness first. We had to start at separation, survival, loneliness, fear, etc., which is the opposite of where we are from, to experience Source in form (physical matter). As humans our reminder of this duality is there every morning in the mirror staring back at us, when we wake up from sleep. We see two eyes. Just as we know tonight there will be darkness to go to sleep to wake up to light, after that 24-hour cycle. What if Earth has a 2500-year cycle and darkness was first, and then there was light? With the help from many teachers, guides and loved ones in the natural and in spiritual form, I began to take a serious look at what I was thinking and internalizing, ('thought' being the beginning point, Source, male energy and internal ~ you'll learn more about in the book) to move away from the darkness towards love and light. So my reason for writing this book, is to bring awareness through my own personal discovery of asking many questions, which was all, answered, to find the courage to not join into the frequency of darkness where fear, hate, discrimination, destruction, war, rape, killings, separation etc., still currently exists. Yvonne is one the most authentic and very graceful women I have ever known, she is literally personification of Divine love and is blessed with such deep understanding of how life operates through the unseen, inconceivable aspects of Divine play . Much of it is only possible when one is a sincere, committed and disciplined seeker of truth and faithfully follows the light and guidance from within. Her book ''see the gift and not the curse'' speaks very honestly as I have known Yvonne and reflects the same core values in the way she lives with others and her relationship with the source

Interesting read!

Although we have extremely different backgrounds I found Yvonne to be very relatable. She felt as if she was cursed due to some of her life experiences, even though they were different situations at times I felt as if I was reading about myself. She had inspired me to find my own gifts and stop thinking I too am cursed! She includes some poetry which were just absolutely beautiful. She has taken some complicated issues and made them seem so simple. Her experiences and learning of her abilities were fascinating to read about! I also learned of some new paranormal phenomenon I never knew of! Very easy read! I do recommend!

I am still reading this book on my kindle and find it every intersting. I have heard the "Confucius said" all my life but never really knew much about him. This book tells about his life, his students and the things the Master taught his students. I would recomend it for all who are interrested in the religion he taught as well as his belief.

Not current fashion, but...

This is the translation by Leonard A. Lyall, from 1909. As such, it uses the older Wade-Giles romanization. I prefer Ames & Rosemont from more recent translations, but this is very representative of its turn-of-the-20th-century type.

The truth, scholars emphasize, is the truth, no matter what its source, even if the speaker is of a different race, religion, sex, or culture. This being true, people should pay attention to The Sayings of Confucius.

Confucius was born in 550 BCE. The Jesuits who carried his teachings to Europe called him Confucius, although his name was K'ung Fu-tzu. This book's introduction describes his turbulent time and the people and rulers of the period. It was a time when the country was broken into independent empires, each virtually powerless. Confucius held some government positions, but spent his later years in study and teaching, and gained many disciples. He studied history with the hope that he could find a way to help his people and country, and wrote books called Book of History and Spring and Autumn, and edited Book of Poetry. He died in 479 BCE at age 71.

Confucius did not write The Sayings of Confucius. Some scholars think that it was composed by a disciple of his based on what his teacher actually said. However, there are passages that speak of events long after his death. The general consensus is that the book was composed by students or admirers around 400 BCE. The following are a sample of sayings:

* Smooth words and fawning looks are seldom found with love.
* Put faithfulness and truth first; have no friends unlike thyself; be not ashamed to mend thy ways.
* A gentleman that does not seek to eat his fill...may be said to love learning.
* Not to be known is no sorrow. My sorrow is not knowing men.
* A gentleman puts words into action first, and follows them with words.
* Learning without thought is naught; thought without learning is dangerous.
* To know what we know, and know what we do not know, is wisdom.

Not all of the sayings are wise; some are trite. There is some repetition of thoughts told with different words. Some thoughts are difficult to understand. But these facts should not stop people from reading the book and gainig new ideas.

About the Author
Bonnie F. Fremgen is a former associate dean of the Allied Health Program at Robert Morris College. She has taught medical law and ethics courses as well as clinical and administrative topics. In addition, she has served as an advisor for students’ career planning. She has broad interests and experiences in the health care field, including hospitals, nursing homes, and physicians’ offices.

Dr. Fremgen holds a nursing degree as well as a master’s in health care administration. She received her PhD from the College of Education at the University of Illinois. She has performed postdoctoral studies in Medical Law at Loyola University Law School in Chicago. She has authored five textbooks with Pearson.

Suzanne S. Frucht is an Associate Professor Emeritus of Anatomy and Physiology at Northwest Missouri State University (NWMSU). She holds baccalaureate degrees in biological sciences and physical therapy from Indiana University, an MS in biological sciences at NWMSU, and a PhD in molecular biology and biochemistry from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

For 14 years she worked full-time as a physical therapist in various health care settings, including acute care hospitals, extended care facilities, and home health. Based on her educational and clinical experience she was invited to teach medical terminology part-time in 1988 and became a full-time faculty member three years later as she discovered her love for the challenge of teaching. She taught a variety of courses including medical terminology, human anatomy, human physiology, and animal anatomy and physiology. She received the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2003. After retiring from teaching in 2008, she continues to be active in student learning through teaching medical terminology as an online course and writing medical terminology texts and anatomy and physiology laboratory manuals.

I didn't buy this book brand new, but it seems like it is brand new! The book is very basic and easy to use for my class, but if you are looking for a more in-depth insight of the medical field I suggest a different textbook.

About the Author
Matthias Otto is Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany. He was born in Dresden (Germany) and did all his studies at the University of Leipzig. In 1984 he moved to Freiberg (Germany) as a lecturer and was appointed full Professor there in 1987. Since that time he has taught almost all aspects of Analytical Chemistry mainly within the curricula of chemistry, applied sciences and geoecology and organizes courses in basic and advanced chemometrics. He is author and editor of successful textbooks in analytical chemistry.

Seems to have a good amount of information

Seems to have a good amount of information; however, it can be a little hard to understand at times. When I was new to chemometrics it confused me a good amount, especially with my limitied stats/math background. Now after being in the field for a little bit, it is a good book to refer back to

Informative but broad

An informative book that covers a wide range of topics in chemometrics. About a third of the book deals with statistics, giving a good review to signal processing, ANOVA, t-tests, etc. For someone that wanted a book dealing only with chemometrics, it is disappointing to find a big portion of the book dedicated to basic statistics. A lot of topics are covered but not all in much detail. For example, there are 3 pages on SIMCA, 4 pages on PCR and PLS. There are more details when you get into the sections on neural networks and fuzzy theory. The examples are OK but not always easy to follow if you are not familiar with a particular method because steps are skipped. This book is a great overview of chemometrics-useful to refresh memories or get new ideas for data treatment- but needs to be supplemented with additional resources to learn more any one particular method. Fortunately the author includes a "general reading" section at the end of each chapter which provides references for books with more details.

Jonathan Hayward is a polymath with advanced degrees bridging mathematics, computers (UIUC), theology, and philosophy. He obtained his theology and philosophy degrees from Cambridge University. Misleading title and description

When I saw that this book came out, I jumped on it. From the title and the description, I thought it would cover the combination of Reactive Programming with Bacon.js with React.

I perused through the whole book. The writer is obviously skilled and the book has some witty and interesting prose. On a practical level, though, it does not meet the expectation that I had. The back cover says "Tools to make functional reactive programming easier like Bacon.js, a library like jQuery, are also covered." This is, in my humble opinion, misleading because while Bacon.js is mentioned, it is just touched upon and not used at all in the code examples.

While an often-expressed complaint about computer books is that they focus too much on the "how" and not enough on the "why", my complaint about this title is the reverse. Reading about the "why" was interesting, but I'm already sold. I was hoping for much more practical examples on the "how". On that level, the book only has a few examples on using React, in not much depth at all. While React does work very well with Reactive programming, using React does not mean you are applying Reactive programming. The book has no examples on Reactive programming itself, which is why I find the title misleading.

I'd give this book 1 star for how disappointed I am, but I give it 2 stars for the entertaining read, written by a skilled author.

But to build a to-do list in a day using ReactJS isn't a bad way to learn

"Monet is only an eye, but what an eye!" - This phrase gets mentioned a lot in reference to ReactJS, which is most of what this eBook goesthrough, but it is a sampling of multiple tools for reactive programming, and a walkthrough a few simple applications. It's prepping one into the world of Node.js as well, but not in too much detail - it is more for the curious Javascript programmer that doesn't want to get too lost too fast. But to build a to-do list in a day using ReactJS isn't a bad way to learn, just don't expect the world out of one book.

A very useful book on ReactJS

As a web developer looking to learn how to use Facebook's Javascript framework, this book is highly recommended. The audience of the book is programmers who want to learn how to use ReactJS. It's expected that the reader is already familiar with Javascript, programming and creating web user-interfaces. This is not a beginners guide.

There is clear descriptions on the basic underpinning theory to reactive programming (or event driven to use its more conventional nomenclature). This gives the reader a good basic understanding of the theory before moving towards examples.

The book is very concise and there is a lot of theory. Some readers may be put off by that, as they just want to get to the code samples. Personally, I found the theory put the rest of the examples in context. I personally think understanding the theory to a subject puts the reader in a far better position to actually understanding it.

There are some very useful examples that then demonstrate how to use ReactJS. These are all very well annotated and consolidate the theoretical sections of the book.

I would recommend this book to anyone wishing to learn ReactJS.
